Bernie Sanders Stands With the Central Valley
Senator Bernie Sanders endorses Sandra Celedon for State Assembly.
Senator Bernie Sanders: Sandra Celedon Is Who Working Families Need in Sacramento
When I launched this campaign, I made a promise: it would be powered by people — not corporations, not PACs, not special interests. Today, I’m proud to share that Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed our campaign for State Assembly.
This endorsement means so much to me — not because of a famous name, but because of what Bernie Sanders has always stood for. The belief that health care is a right, not a privilege. That working families deserve a government that actually answers to them. That real, lasting change is built from the bottom up.
Here in the Central Valley, those aren’t slogans. They’re my life.
I’m an immigrant. My parents brought me here from Mexico searching for something better, and together, as a family, we worked the fields to build it. I grew up in Calwa, where I learned early what it means to sit at a kitchen table and decide which bill you can afford to pay this month. For more than 20 years, I’ve fought to bring real investments to our communities — health clinics, parks, and tens of millions of dollars for the neighborhoods that corporate-controlled politicians have long ignored.
Bernie Sanders exemplifies what I’ve witnessed again and again: when you put working people first, and people come together, we have the power to change everything. I’ve spent my life showing up for this community. Now I’m asking you to show up with us.
My opponents rely on corporate PAC money. This campaign belongs to you — and now it’s backed by a movement that has never stopped believing a better future is possible.
The primary is Tuesday, June 2nd. Let’s win this — together.
