Sandra’s Priorities
Career politicians show up for ribbon cuttings. Sandra Celedon does the work that brings the investments home.
For more than 20 years, Sandra Celedon has united community leaders, working families, and labor to win lasting change for Fresno County. While others built careers inside political institutions, Sandra built the coalitions that brought the parks, the health care, the housing protections, and the millions in public investment our communities deserve.
The Investments Sandra Celedon Delivered:
- Co-authored and led the campaign to pass Measure P to fund parks and trails, arts, and after school programs, led the work to build a skate park at Romain Park and a BMX park at Mary Ella Brown Center, and secured $6.6 million from Prop 68 to rebuild Calwa Park.
- Co-led the regional coalition that secured $70 million in Transformative Climate Communities state funding for environmental, economic, and public health investments — including $17 million to build the West Fresno Community College campus in southwest Fresno.
- Led the creation of a $5.5 million fund to provide lifesaving health care to undocumented people.
- Co-founded the Fresno COVID-19 Equity Project — uniting nearly 20 organizations and more than 100 community health workers to deliver vaccinations and care to more than 45,000 residents.
- Won first-of-their-kind renter protections in Fresno: the Rental Housing Inspection Act, Eviction Protection Program, and Emergency Rental Assistance Program — keeping families in their homes through the worst of the housing crisis.
